    Food photos are used only to recognise the food and are never stored, and the app deletes its own copy as soon as the scan ends.

    Your data is encrypted in transit and on your phone, and only you can see your own account.

  • Delete everything, any time

    Delete your account from Profile and all of your data is permanently erased. We don’t keep a copy.

Questions, answered

Are my food photos stored anywhere?

No. On phones with built-in AI, the photo is analysed on the phone. On other phones, a small copy without location details is sent securely to Google’s Gemini AI to recognise the food; it isn’t linked to your name and isn’t stored, and Google doesn’t use it to improve its products. The app deletes its temporary copy as soon as the scan ends.

Which phones does it work on?

CalMeter is launching on Android first; the iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. On phones with built-in AI, food recognition runs on the phone: iPhone 15 Pro and newer, with Apple Intelligence turned on and the latest iOS (when the iPhone app launches); Android phones with Google’s built-in on-device AI, including Google Pixel 9 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S26 series and the latest Galaxy Z foldables, OnePlus 13 and newer, and recent flagships from Xiaomi, POCO, OPPO, vivo, iQOO, Honor, Motorola, realme, Sony, Sharp and Lenovo. Does it know the food I eat?

Very likely. The food list has nearly 10,000 foods from cuisines around the world, with everyday portions like piece, cup, bowl and grams. If something is missing, you can add it as a custom food in seconds.

How accurate are the calories?

Calories come from a trusted food database, and you confirm every food and portion before saving. Values are estimates for general wellness, not medical advice.

How do I sign in?

With your Google account from any country, with your Apple ID on iPhone (when the iPhone app launches), or with an Indian (+91) mobile number and a one-time SMS code. Phone sign-in is available in India only.

Which countries is CalMeter available in?

CalMeter works in every country where it’s offered on Google Play (and on the App Store once the iPhone app launches). Food search covers foods from cuisines around the world. Sign-in: Google account: All countries; Apple ID (iPhone): All countries, when the iPhone app launches; Mobile number with a one-time SMS code: India (+91) only. Outside India, sign in with Google (or Apple on iPhone). Everything else in the app works the same in every country.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile and tap Delete account. Your account and all its data are permanently deleted. You can also email info@calmeter.app.

Who can use CalMeter?

CalMeter is for adults aged 18 and over.
